Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of the Konark Corps during Exercise Akhand Prahar, a key phase of the ongoing Tri-Services Exercise Trishul.

The large-scale field exercise aimed to evaluate and validate the Indian Army’s capability to execute multi-domain and integrated operations in close coordination with the Indian Air Force. During his visit, Lt Gen Seth witnessed live demonstrations of combined arms manoeuvres, highlighting smooth joint coordination, refined tactical drills, and the deployment of cutting-edge battlefield technologies — including drone-based surveillance systems and counter-drone solutions.

The Army Commander also interacted with troops and reviewed a display of indigenous innovations conceptualized by the Battle Axe Division and Konark Corps. These innovations — ranging from force protection technologies to locally engineered unmanned platforms — reflect the Army’s deepening focus on Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) and innovation-driven modernization at the field formation level.

Appreciating the professionalism and ingenuity of the troops, Lt Gen Seth noted that the exercise underscores the dynamic nature of modern warfare and the Indian Army’s commitment to remain prepared for evolving challenges. He further emphasized that Exercise Akhand Prahar encapsulates the Southern Command’s guiding principles of Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation (JAI) — driving transformation through inter-service cooperation, indigenous solutions, and advanced combat preparedness.

By combining air and land combat capabilities through indigenous systems and tactical innovation, Exercise Akhand Prahar reinforces the Indian Army’s steady progress toward integrated and technology-enabled warfare. The exercise stands as another milestone in Southern Command’s ongoing efforts to enhance joint operational effectiveness and strengthen India’s self-reliant defence ecosystem.
